So yeah we're still crapping our pants over our unexpected visit from a Bear.
I've had a few people tell me know that bears are proving to be a problem this year.
This isn't statistically valid, but here's some news from this year.
June 13th, 2009: Bear attacks Sudbury woman
September 10, 2009: Nuisance bear calls on the rise in Sudbury (though "The number of bear sightings in the last two weeks may seem high, but it is actually right on par with this time last year")
September 17, 2009: Montreal woman dies after bear attack (Bad weather has affected berries, a staple in the bear diet, which has made the animals bold and desperate.)
But don't worry! Province unconcerned about rise in encounters with bears
Yeah I'm probably just hypersensitive to this issue right now. I'll calm down in a decade or two.
