Stop Blaming Francois Houle!

This week is turning into one of the weeks where you want to avoid the news media as much as possible.

This morning on CBC radio, there were two guests that were discussing the Coulter-OttawaU affair. Though both agreed that Coulter is an idiot without compare, the self-proclaimed conservative guest laid the blame squarely on the provost for sending the letter to Coulter.

His claim was that in the 10 years he's been associated with the University of Ottawa, he has never heard of a warning letter being sent to a visiting guest.

I have a reason why that may be.

It was a PRIVATE letter sent to Coulter. She chose to leak it to the media!!!!!!

Which begs the question. How would you know about prior instances of private letters to guest speakers? You wouldn't, would you.

So shut the fuck up about this being the provost's fault, and put the blame squarely where it belongs, at Ann Coulter's feet. Fer cryin' out loud, the letter was very tame, even friendly and was construed as advice on how to avoid controversy. Given the idiot Coulter is, that was probably a mistake, but it was not threatening in any way. If it was threatening, then warning people to be careful in any instance where they might experience harm is threatening. So to any conservatives out there that feel differently, go ahead, run with scissors, play with fire and most definitely drink that jug of chlorine bleach. I don't want to hold you back from your freedoms.

Amen. I *really* hope Coulter follows through on her threat to pursue this as a "hate crime"--besides obscurity, there's nothing worse than ridicule if you're Ann Coulter.
